Video Marketing Statistics 2020

Here’s a fact: Most internet users would prefer to watch a video than read through a commercial. Couple that with the fact that revenue from video marketing is forecast to grow by around 14.6% per year, and you can see that video is the wave of the future in internet marketing.

Think of all the commercials that you see on TV every day. All those ads contribute to burn out, or maybe it’s better to call it zone out. As a matter of fact, 6 out of f10 people would rather be online than watch TV. With people turning to the internet and leaving the television behind, the outlook for video marketing is bright.

Do you know how much money is made using video marketing? In 2018, video marketing revenue reached almost $28 billion dollars.

As an internet business owner, and an internet marketer, are you getting your share of that revenue?

This might be a good time to actually give you a video that’s got some good tips on video marketing. It’s only about 14 minutes long. I found it to be very interesting, but maybe a little advanced for me, since I haven’t started using video for my business yet. It’s got some pretty good ideas though.

How To Make Your Own Videos The Easy Way

Just use your cell phone. Put it in selfie mode and start recording. I have an iphone 11. I just did a test video using that method. Actually, when I opened the camera app and selected video, there was a little icon that looked like a little white circle that had arrows going around the circumference.

I tapped on the little icon and got the selfie mode. I then touched the record button and it started recording. I basically said the standard “This is a test of the video mode using the selfie function.” I recorded for about 10 seconds and then played the video back.

I learned a couple of things.

Thing #1

My face is NOT photogenic. I’m a 68 year-old man. My days of being good-looking have passed. My wife still thinks I’m handsome, but the camera does not. That’s just the reality.

That kind of bums me out and makes me self-conscious. I might have to find younger, more photogenic talent for my videos, like one of my teenage grandkids.

Thing #2

The video selfie method works! No need for an expensive camera to make quick and easy videos to get started with.  And, we all have to start somewhere.

Start with what you have. Use your cell phone, produce a short script or outline, and get going.  It’s good practice if nothing else.

I haven’t downloaded a video to see if I can edit it before I publish it. I’ll have to do some more testing and research before I am ready to post my first video online.

I subscribed to a screen cast program called Screencast-O-Matic a couple of years ago, but haven’t used it much so far either. You can use such a program to make screen videos of your posts if you want, and can use a program like PowerPoint to make a slide show and record and narrate your slide presentation.

If you use the bells and whistles that come with programs like PowerPoint, you can drop in your text, fade things in and out, and so forth. I’ve made one video that way. I’m tough on myself, and it took me three or four tries before I liked the flow of the narration with the slides.

I watch You Tube videos a lot, and I always wonder how people get so good at narrating their videos. I guess it just takes practice.

Here’s a link to a website that will let you make slide show You Tube videos for free.

Here’s another important fact: Almost 50% of inline shoppers look for product video before purchasing a product.

If you’re a blogger, like me, and you haven’t started using video, then you’re limiting yourself. I do use video, but so far I’ve just imbeded videos that other people have produced into my blog posts.

The time is fast approaching when I will need to start making my own videos.

I’m A Blogger, Just Down From Coos Bay, Oregon..

Wait, that’s a LOGGER, just down from Coos Bay, Oregon. The song with those lyrics was sung by Ray Stevens.

Most internet marketers, who are involved with affiliate marketing, are bloggers.

What’s affiliate marketing? It’s a business model where the blogger (me) enters into an affiliate agreement with a company to market their products in my blog. When a visitor (you) clicks on a link to that product and then makes a buying decision, the company selling that product takes your money for the purchase and ships you the product. That company then pays me a commission.

Affiliate marketing has been around for years, and is still a strong and viable way to earn money online.

It took me about a week to realize that the training was well worth the cost for premium membership, so I upgraded. You may not want to, or you may want to.

Thanks for reading my post. The FCC requires that I inform you that if you click on an affiliate link and are taken to a website where you can purchase a product, and then decide to make a purchase, I will earn a commission.

As I explained earlier, that’ how affiliate marketing works.

I’m Grant.
